INFORMATION ABOUT COOKIES
1. WHAT ARE COOKIES?
A cookie is a text file, normally consisting of letters and numbers, sent by a web server to a web browser and stored by the browser on the user’s device (e.g., computer, telephone, tablet). These cookies can be used to identify or to collect information about you. When we use the terms cookies in this notice, it covers other similar technologies, such as local storage technologies and web beacons.
2. WHAT TYPES DOES ADICET USE?
We only use first-party cookies. They are created, sent to your device and stored by the website you are visiting directly. They allow Adicet to collect customer analytics data, remember language settings, and carry out other useful functions that help provide a good user experience.
Cookies can also be further classified depending on the purpose of their placement. Adicet uses:
- Strictly necessary cookies: These cookies are necessary for the website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work.
- Performance cookies: These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our site. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the site. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies we will not know when you have visited our site, and will not be able to monitor its performance.
- For example, we use Google Analytics, to help us better understand how people engage with our website by collecting information and creating reports about how users use our website. For more information on Google Analytics, click here. For more information about Google’s privacy practices, click here. You can opt out of Google Analytics by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
- Targeting cookies: These cookies may be set through our site by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other sites. They do not store directly personal information, but are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.
- For example, cookies are Adobe's Experience Cloud for analytics and tracking purposes. They store unique visitor identifiers to enable data sharing across different Adobe solutions and track user interactions across domains.
Email Interaction Technology. Our emails may contain web beacons to tell us whether they are opened and verify any clicks through to links within an email. We use this information to help us understand how an email campaign performed, what types of emails and content our recipients find interesting, and what actions our recipients took, so we can improve our email campaigns in the future and make our emails more relevant to our recipients. If you do not wish the web beacon to be downloaded onto your device, you should select to receive emails from us in plain text rather than HTML.
Cookies may also be divided into two categories depending on the period for which they are stored:
- Session cookies: they allow Adicet to recognize and link your actions during a browsing session. When you go to the login page, these temporary cookies will be created to determine whether or not your browser accepts cookies.
- Persistent cookies: they are placed on your device between sessions. They can be used to remember your preferences or actions on Adicet’s website.
